From December 21st to 29th, we're hosting a meeting space full of creative corners, games, live music, workshops... Do you remember the Climate Shelter This summer? Well, this Christmas we offer you another place, this time for games and fantasy, so you can take refuge from the consumerist frenzy typical of this time of year.

Come to our surreal Christmas celebration in the heart of Madrid!

A space to create, read, dance and imagine.

 

A unique space to read, create, dance or simply be. Also We have everything necessary for children and adults to enjoy themselves through creativity and play, including a space to grab a bite, a changing room, and a stroller parking area.

An open and free space

 

Surreal chess games. Moving boards, Dadaist pawns, and unexpected moves. Chess corners that would challenge even Kasparov himself.  

Collaborative creation of a Christmas landscape. Together we will create a unique Christmas scene: like a nativity scene, but in a crazy way. 

Trunk of absurd costumes. A disastrous hodgepodge full of impossible accessories and costumes. 

Concerts with Chico Trópico, Julián Mayorga, Oumoukala, a Dadá disco and many more.  Thanks to Brócoli Verbena, we'll enjoy a host of musical performances for children, teenagers, young adults, and the young at heart. No one will miss out on dancing!  

Dress to Impress. A live, analog version of this online game. Participate by creating and transforming your clothes in record time. 

Toy hospital. Choco Repair is here, brought to you by Repair Café. Bring your old or broken toys to give them a new life, learning to repair them while enjoying a hot chocolate.  

K-Pop experience.K-Pop choreography and culture masterclass with Andy del Pozo, captain of the current Spanish K-Pop national team. Choreography, costumes, and vibrant rhythms. Ideal for fans and anyone wanting to try something new.

Gift Bank. UA non-profit initiative that establishes a toy collection point to donate to various groups at risk of social exclusion. Additionally, during their surreal Christmas celebrations, they will offer a gift-wrapping workshop to help the Three Wise Men with their important work.  

Different workshops to develop the imagination to the fullest. From painting our nails with surreal designs, to customizing clothes and also a toy recycling workshop with the artist Álvaro Soler-Arpa.

We make surreal Christmas possible with

Broccoli Verbena

Broccoli Verbena is the dinosaur who swallowed the meteorite whole, taking ownership of its story. A gang of animals running free and happy from the jungles of Corcovado to the rings of Saturn. A volcano erupting in colorful lava that doesn't burn, so you can enjoy dancing in the velodrome of its crater. Broccoli Verbena is a series of festive, cultural, child-centered, and intergenerational gatherings, activities, and events. Experiences for families and their companions where you can be and belong to a tribe.

Gift Bank

A non-profit organization that primarily helps those who ask. Gifts bring joy; they celebrate special moments, show affection, and share love. However, there are children who, even when well-behaved, don't always have the resources to show their appreciation. The Gift Bank collects toys, books, clothing, and other items, prepares them, wraps them, and shares them with those who need them most.

The older ones also count

A volunteer group from the Madrid City Council that uses storytelling as a tool for community engagement. They voluntarily share stories in associations, libraries, events, and schools, among other venues.

Texture Factory

It is a design studio founded in Madrid in 2012 to experiment with and promote the visual arts through the "Do It Yourself" philosophy. Their work is a balancing act between product design and outreach. In their workshop, they experiment with different artistic techniques and refine them to make them more accessible to a general audience.

Urban Roosters

Urban Roosters is a pioneering platform for the professionalization of freestyle rap, born from a passion for rap and the need for expression. With a global ecosystem, it fosters talent and Hip Hop culture, connecting millions of people through the Freestyle Master Series (FMS) and other innovative projects.

Circumconsciousness

A project combining science communication and circus arts, conceived, created, and performed by the Venafrente Brothers. This performance format offers numerous possibilities for educating and teaching through curiosity and emotion, while maintaining scientific precision and rigor. In this way, we will be building meaningful knowledge and fostering the attitudes necessary to promote scientific literacy in society.

The head tells stories

This project originated within the Cabeza Senior Day Center. They define themselves as “three grandmothers who tell stories.” They revive oral storytelling by sharing tales that invite people to dream and learn.

Red Flag

A Madrid-based dance group, bronze medalists at the Changwon K-Pop World Festival and winners of the K-Pop World Festival Spain, has prepared a surreal K-Pop immersive experience for this Christmas season. Andy del Pozo and María Arthur are a dance teacher trained at renowned studios such as 1Million Dance Studio, MuTudio, and KCDS in South Korea. María is a journalist specializing in international relations, as well as a dancer and K-Pop teacher. Together, they host the podcast Kulture Shock! From Seoul to Madrid, where they share their passion for Korean culture and recount their experiences living and traveling in Korea.

Repair Café

Repair Cafés are free-access spaces where everything revolves around fixing things (together). The idea is simple: people bring their broken items and, with the help of experts, repair them while learning to see them in a new light and discover their value. This surreal Christmas, Repair Café invites us to give a second life to toys and broken objects in a cozy atmosphere, accompanied by traditional coffee and, on this occasion, hot chocolate.

Simplets

Enrique Radigales, Blanca Torres, and their son Simón form "Simplots," a family group that grew out of nightly readings of Russian folktales. Inspired by the humor and sensitivity of these stories, they decided to adapt one of the tales into a script for shadow puppetry. Together, they drew the puppets, rehearsed the characters, recorded the voices, and designed the musical score.
