CBA Programming 2021-22
El Círculo de Bellas Artes It announced its new programming on Tuesday, October 5, in an event that was broadcast live from this website.
The 2021-2022 cultural season will be marked by renewed enthusiasm. The restoration of our façade after a long period of construction, the return to full capacity after the worst of the health crisis, and the modernization of our halls and internal spaces are some of the symbols of the return to a degree of normality.
Regarding the programming, el Círculo will continue to delve deeper into the four main themes that have defined last season: internationalization, innovation, youth and equality.
Our internationalization project is based on collaboration with various embassies and cultural institutes, and with organizations such as AECID, AC/E and European Commission (through the programs Creative Europe y Horizon Europe). Furthermore, we will continue to strengthen our ties with the more than seventy institutions that make up the AEuropean Alliance of Academieswhich will be held soon in el Círculo su Annual assemblyThis and other events, such as the seminar The Value of CultureThey persevere in defending a transnational European culture and values such as freedom of artistic creation.
The Circle will continue this season with initiatives that focus on innovation (R&D&C Strategy y Dialogues for critical innovation), aspiring to consolidate itself as the main center for knowledge transfer in Arts and Humanities research. Through this axis of our programming, we want to defend (in collaboration with Universities, Embassies, and all the entities that accompany us in these projects) a conception of innovation that, beyond digitization, also draws on the richness provided by culture, creativity, social commitment, and critical thinking.
Furthermore, we will continue to promote youth-oriented programming, convinced that we must pay close attention to the proposals, reflections, and work of the new generations. Thus, we will enjoy two exhibitions (Futures y Young Curators Residency Program) starring young artists and curators; we will share the stage and projects with the theater company The Young Woman and we will welcome back the students of the Alliance of 4 Universitieswho will surprise us with the 6th interdisciplinary congress. This commitment will also be reflected in our publishing house, on Radio Círculo, and in our digital programming.
It remains crucial for us to defend an egalitarian perspective on culture, striving for a greater presence of women in our programming and publications; therefore, this year we will hold a major congress that will invite us to reflect on The feminist museum and two humanities courses on women role models in the visual arts and philosophy.
Along with these major axes, el Círculo It has designed a program that combines the most recent and innovative cultural proposals with others that are part of the history of culture; a program that is also on alert, constantly attentive to the various manifestations and social challenges, which it faces critically and reflectively; and, as a result, an open and dynamic program, capable of adapting to the challenges that may arise in such a complex historical moment.

Seventy-three images reveal the most unsettling and unknown aspects of the photographer's work. Another of the big names this season is...
