Alfonso Armada
Alfonso Armada (Vigo, 1958) is a journalist. Director of the online magazine fronterad, he covered the siege of Sarajevo and the Rwandan genocide. He was deputy director of the magazine teatra, served for five years as Africa correspondent for the newspaper El País (from 1994 to 1998), and was ABC's correspondent in New York (from 1999 to 2005). He is president of the Spanish section of Reporters Without Borders. Among his published books are African notebooks; Spain, from sunrise to sunset, and The rumor of the border. Travel along the border between the United States and Mexico (the three published by Península, the last two with photographs by Corina Arranz); New York, desire and chimera (Espasa); New York Dictionary (Peninsula); Atlantic Ocean.
