Emilio Lledó (Seville, November 5, 1927) is a Spanish philosopher trained in Germany who has taught at the universities of Heidelberg, La Laguna, Barcelona, ​​and Madrid. He has been a member of the Royal Spanish Academy since 1994 and occupies seat "l" (lowercase). A leading scholar of ancient and classical Greek thought, he has published numerous books and articles on thought and language, including: Philosophy and Language (1971), Language and History (1978), The Furrow of Time (1992), and the more recent Word and Humanity (2015) and Fidelity to Greece (2015).
