Federico Lechner

Born in Buenos Aires in 1974 into a family of musicians, he began playing the piano at the age of three. During his childhood, he frequently performed in piano recitals and worked as a singer in television commercials. In 1984, he moved to Spain. In 1989, he began studying jazz and working as a pianist and keyboardist with various artists.

He has collaborated with a wide range of artists from the commercial music scene in Spain: Los Toreros Muertos, Miguel Ríos, Ariel Rot, Javier Krahe, Pablo Carbonell, Ismael Serrano, Sergio Makaroff, Rafa Tena or Javier Ruibal among others, combining the roles of pianist, arranger, musical director, multi-instrumentalist, and artistic producer, live and in the studio.

Likewise, despite his youth, he is a well-known figure on the Spanish jazz scene: he has played alongside musicians of the caliber of Jorge Pardo, Antonio Serrano, Chano Domínguez, Perico Sambeat, Javier Colina, Pedro Ruy Blas, Bob Sands, Ximo Tebar, Victor Merlo, Israel Sandoval, Paloma Berganza, Carlos Carli, and many more. He also collaborates with international artists such as Jerry González, Christian Howes, Sonny Fortune, Ugonna Okewo, and Rez Abbasi, among others.

It came to light in September 2006 Wake, album by the Federico Lechner Tango & Jazz trio.
