Gara Hernandez
Gara Hernández Sánchez is a musicologist and sound artist, currently a doctoral candidate in queer musicology linked to sound experimentation (Autonomous University of Madrid). With prior studies in classical piano, her work focuses on the politicization of sound through acoustic discomfort and on theoretical speculation about the evolution of noise, sound, and the identity politics of queer bodies. She articulates her academic research and sound practice around the relationship between gender and sexual dissidence and experimentation, thus working on the concept of Performative Horrorism in noise art.
