Jorge Lago

Jorge Lago (Madrid, 1976) is a philosopher, editor, and writer. He is currently a Research Fellow in the Department of Sociology I at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), and has been an associate researcher at LEST-CNRS (Aix-en-Provence) and a visiting researcher at the University of Paris X-Nanterre and the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Interested in the philosophy and sociology of time and its relationship to processes of social change, he has published books and articles on the recent transformations of capitalism and contemporary society, viewed through the lens of the transformations of time: from the construction of the future and the reconstruction of the past to the ways in which the present becomes chronic. He has also contributed to print media such as El Mundo (in its digital version).

He has written a prologue Commonplaces: thirteen voices on the crisis (2013). He is co-owner of the publishing house Lengua de Trapo and works as a creative writing teacher at the Contemporary School of Humanities (ECH).
