Juan Navarro Baldeweg
Juan Navarro Baldeweg (Santander, 1939) is an architect and painter. He has been Professor of Design at the Madrid School of Architecture since 1977. He has taught in Boston, Pennsylvania, and Yale. As a painter, he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Spain, Europe, and the United States. His installation is well-known. Light and metals (1976) and the Domestic hydraulics for the Milan Triennale (1986). As an architect, noteworthy works include the Casa de la Lluvia (Santander, 1982), the Cultural Center and Hydraulic Museum at the Mills of the Segura River (Murcia, 1988), the Social Services Center and Library at the Puerta de Toledo (Madrid, 1992), the Salamanca Festival Palace (1992), the Headquarters of the Regional Government of Extremadura (Mérida, 1995), the Congress Center (Salzburg, 1992), the Salvador Allende Museum and Cultural Center (Santiago de Chile, 1993), and the project for the Altamira Caves Museum (1995).
