MASSIMO CACCIARI

He was a professor of Aesthetics at the University of Venice for many years and, since 2002, has chaired the Governing Board of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan. He has led an active political life: from 1976 to 1983 he was a member of parliament for the Italian Communist Party (PCI), and from 1993 to 2000, he was mayor of Venice for the Olive Tree coalition. In 2005, he was re-elected mayor of Venice. Among his works translated into Spanish are Dialogue on solidarity (1997) The Archipelago: Figures of the Other in the West (1999) The dancing god ( 2000) Geo-philosophy of Europe (2000) o Cozy solitude: from Leopardi to Celan (2004).
