Monika Rühle
Monika RühleStuttgart, Germany, 1967. She creates video art, documentaries, performances, and designs costumes and sets for theater under the name La Casa Colorada Producciones. Her videos have been screened in theaters, musicals, concerts, exhibitions, on TVE's Metrópolis program, and at numerous film, theater, and art festivals. She won second prize at the 2018 FECIDISCOVI International Film Festival with her documentary Various Lorcas, his video creation Confinement02 She was selected for the CCCC Valencia's Online Culture program in 2020 and in 2018 participated as a visual artist in the Creation Encounters at La Magdalena, part of the Network of Alternative Theatres. She is involved with associations such as AVAM, EmPoderArte, and EncuentrosArtísticosRurales. Since 1997, she has been deeply involved in inclusive theatre with the company Contando Hormigas as a costume, set, and video designer. With them, she directed the performance-concert Sibylawhich was performed at the Reina Sofía Museum and other festivals. She was born in Germany to a German father and a Spanish mother. After completing her secondary education in Stuttgart, she studied Fine Arts in Granada and finished at the Central University of Barcelona, specializing in Engraving and Printing. She furthered her studies in set design (RESAD), graphic design (TAI), video editing and post-production (IMEFE), documentary filmmaking, and video mapping in Madrid, where she has lived since 1992.
