Rodrigo Castro Orellana

Rodrigo Castro Orellana. Full Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Society at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Complutense University of Madrid. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the Complutense University and a Master's degree in Philosophy from the University of Chile. He specializes in the History of Contemporary Philosophy, Political Philosophy, Ibero-American Thought, and Postcolonial Studies. Author of Foucault and the Care of Freedom: Ethics for a Face of Sand (Lom, 2008), Neoliberal mechanisms and resistance (forthcoming from Herder, 2023), and numerous publications in national and international journals. Among other books, he has edited: Post-hegemony. The end of a paradigm of political philosophy in Latin America (New Library, 2015), Foucault and the history of philosophy (Dado Ediciones, 2018), together with José Luis Villacañas, and Towards a critique of neoliberalism: Foucault and the Birth of Biopolitics (Trap Language, 2021).  Deputy Director of the Department of Philosophy and Society. Founder and Executive Director of the Ibero-American Foucault Network. Director of the Dorsal Journal of Foucauldian Studies and member of the editorial team of Foucault Studies.
