Simon Critchley

Simon Critchley (1960) studied and received his doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Essex, having also studied at the University of Nice. He has been a professor at the University of Essex and president of the British Phenomenological Society. He worked at various universities until 2004 when he was appointed Professor of Philosophy at the New School for Social Research in New York, where he resides.

His books primarily deal with contemporary nihilism, the meaning of life, and deconstruction from an ethical perspective.
