Winfried Brenne
Winfried Brenne He is an architect and engineer. He has been a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts, an advisor on monumental works for the State of Berlin, and a member of the advisory board for the restoration of Bauhaus-Dessau and of the board of directors of the Foundation for the Protection of Monuments. He is currently a member of DOCOMOMO Germany, the German National Committee of ICOMOS, the Fritz Schumacher Society, and the Academy of Arts.
He specializes in eco-efficient architecture, integrated planning of urban spaces based on the historical substrate, expert assessment of buildings and monumental complexes, architectural restoration, construction of museums and exhibition installations.
He has several publications and among his most outstanding projects are the eco-efficient residential project for the Heinrich-Böll Colony, the restoration of the former ADGB state school in Bernau, the reconstruction of the Bauhaus Muche-Schlemmer teachers' house, and the construction of museums such as the Deutsches Historisches Museum Berlin, Schloss Charlottenburg, Schloss Schönhausen Berlin-Pankow or Kaiser-Wilhelm-Museum Krefeld.
