Carmen Jordán | HOMO FRACASUS, or how to turn (failed) economic modeling into an artistic object
This research proposal aims to explore whether contemporary individuals might aspire to think and act like the “homo economicus” traditionally assumed by economic theory, and whether this could be at the root of current frustration and feelings of failure. To this end, it proposes appropriating concepts from economic language in an artistic, associative, and evocative way, constructing a kind of “anti-model” that allows us to search for “homo fracasus” and, hopefully, help us overcome it.
