The "War Films" series includes four classic works from the history of the genre: Paths of Glory (Stanley Kubrick, 1957), The Bridge (Bernhard Wicki, 1959), I Was Nineteen (Konrad Wolf, 1968), and Johnny Got His Gun (Dalton Trumbo, 1971), as well as a modern classic: No Man's Land (Danis Tanovic, 2001). All of these could equally be included in a series on the absurdity of war.
