The Mexican cinema meticulously documented the student and popular uprising of '68 and the demand for a different world, establishing itself as a form of expressive and counter-informational protest. Following this same spirit, independent and underground cinema in Spain sought to approach the country's reality, embedded as it was in a long dictatorship.
