On the occasion of the delivery of the Medalla de Oro from the CBA To celebrate Aki Kaurismäki, we've programmed a series featuring some of the Finnish director's greatest works. “Kaurismäki is one of those directors, like Godard, Assayas, or Edward Yang, who manage to capture in their films, through an ephemeral, complex, and pure sensation, the confusing alloy of joy and melancholy, of success and oblivion” (Adrian Martin).
