Madrid, 1955. Paco, a young man who has just finished his military service, decides to settle in the capital. He plans to marry his girlfriend Trini, but another woman, an attractive widow named Luisa, to whom he has rented a room, enters his life. Obsessed with his lover, Paco grows increasingly distant from his girlfriend, forced to choose between the two.
