The film tells the story of the Prussian von Krauss family and the love between a Kashubian boy and a German aristocrat, Marita, reflecting the complex history of the three ethnic groups that coexisted in the former region of Kashubia. Here, the demarcation line established by the Treaty of Versailles after the First World War, in addition to dividing the land, clearly separated the various nationalities: Germans, Kashubians, and Poles.
