Microphone and camera in hand, Pasolini filmed this documentary in 1963, intending to reflect the Italian mindset regarding sexuality and romantic relationships. To do so, he traveled south and north, to cities and the countryside. Among those interviewed were the poet and Nobel laureate Ungaretti and the novelist Alberto Moravia.
