Of the three astronauts who participated in the mission devised by Dr. Quatermass, only one survives. His health, both physical and mental, appears severely damaged. Despite everything, pressured by his wife, he leaves the hospital where he was under observation. The consequences of this act could be devastating, as the survivor is being consumed by an alien force.
