About the film
The story of Bernadette Soubirous (Jennifer Jones) and the mystery of the Virgin Mary's apparition in Lourdes, France, in 1858. When the Lady, dressed in white, appears to Bernadette, an asthmatic girl, life in the village of Massadiel, where a spring emerges with waters that cure sick pilgrims, changes dramatically. These events are thoroughly investigated by the Church, doctors, and all manner of experts.
