In a luxurious hotel, Princess Dala (Claudia Cardinale), owner of a priceless feline-shaped jewel, meets Sir Charles (David Niven), a dangerous thief. The least skilled inspector in the French police, the famous Jacques Clouseau (Peter Sellers), will be tasked with stopping the crook from getting away with it.
