Frédéric sees a photograph of a ruined coastal castle that awakens a strange memory from his childhood. He then embarks on a mysterious quest, aided by four vampires, to find the castle and the beautiful woman who lives there.
Lips of Blood is perhaps Rollin's film that best transcends his tendencies toward the poetic and the arcane, while remaining true to his most personal and recurring obsessions: childhood, nostalgia, lost love, romantic quests, cinema, and obsolescence. Lips of Blood was Rollin's answer when asked about his favorite film.
