Donghwa, a young poet in his thirties from Seoul, accompanies his girlfriend Junhee to her parents' house in his vintage car, intending to leave soon. Fascinated by the beauty of the house, perched on a hill, he's invited by her father-in-law to stay. It's the first time he's met his girlfriend's parents, after three years of dating. For a day and a night, he shares in the family's life: walks, a visit to a riverside temple, and long conversations. Amid laughter, wine, strong liquor, and a home-cooked meal, family and personal troubles come to light, revealing the true nature of each person.
