Joan is no longer in love with Victor and is suffering because she hasn't been honest with him. Alicia, her best friend, comforts her by assuring her that she herself doesn't feel passion for her partner Eric and that this doesn't prevent their relationship from going very well. Meanwhile, Rebecca, the third friend, who believes in love as an adventure, is having an affair with Alicia's colleague, something Alicia is unaware of. When Joan finally decides to leave Victor and he disappears, the lives and stories of the three friends take a dramatic turn.
