Slavoj Žižek (Ljubljana, 1949) is one of the most restless and thought-provoking thinkers of our time. With a decidedly Marxist orientation, he never shies away from controversy and at times seems to enjoy provoking, but his thought, profoundly serious beneath its ironic surface, constitutes an essential catalyst in times marked by apathy and lukewarmness.
