Puppets designed halfway between the real (their alter ego) and the abstract (their symbol). This theatrical show Aimed at an adult audience, it transports the viewer to their inner self, revealing the puppets' feelings in detail, with profound poetic beauty. It does so solely through music, without the need for words. I am another yourself It consists of ten seemingly independent episodes in which the same characters reappear time and again to delve deeper into human relationships. A story full of surprises and accidents, where the unexpected prevails.

The Puppet and Its Double Theater is a company founded in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1999. It promotes puppetry and views it as a tool for free expression within the performing arts: glove puppets, shadow puppets, object theater, and combinations of puppets and actors on stage; new forms of audience interaction through elaborate staging. In its pursuit of elevating puppetry to the status of art, The Puppet and Its Double Theater constantly works on creating new productions, researching innovative techniques, participating in educational projects and international festivals, and complementing its performances with workshops and lectures.

Alongside the show I am another yourself, there will be a workshop for adults A workshop on creating puppets with newspaper. Led by Chia-yin Cheng, founder of the company, the workshop will take place on November 26 at 10:30 in the Antonio Palacios room.

In the hands of a puppeteer, the value of a newspaper doesn't lie in its currency. A day after its publication and before it ends up in the trash, its pages become valuable.

Chia-yin Cheng is the co-founder and artistic director of The Puppet and Its Double Theater. She holds a master's degree from the University of Connecticut (USA). A playwright, she has directed numerous international puppet productions, including award-winning ones such as the Taishin Arts Award. Her experimentation in this field focuses on exploring the dialogues between actors, puppets, and audience.
