A theatrical proposal by the Arrieritos dance company that is structured around CarmenThe novel by Prosper Merimée, and the opera of the same name by Bizet. Since the French writer published the novel in 1845, the protagonist, the temperamental gypsy, has become a symbol of passion, unbridled love, and Latin sensuality.

The plot is well-known. Don José Lizarrabengoa, a soldier of Navarrese origin, becomes a bandit and murderer because of his passionate love for the gypsy Carmen, who is married to El Tuerto, a bandit. Out of love, Don José ends up collaborating with him in ambushes and crimes until, driven by jealousy, he challenges and kills El Tuerto in a knife fight. Later, Carmen becomes romantically involved with a bullfighter named Lucas. Don José cannot bear Carmen's disdain and stabs her to death. Some time later, consumed by remorse, Don José turns himself in and is sentenced to death.
