Don Quixote in 59 minutes…

As part of our 30th Continuous Reading of Don Quixote, we present, as a small preview of what is to come, the work Don Quixote in 59 minutes de Hector Urien. In it, with deep respect for the original text, Urién weaves a narrative thread in a monologue version that leads the viewer with rhythm and naturalness from the moment Alonso Quijano decides to become a knight-errant until he is returned to his place in La Mancha.

In between, many of Don Quixote's famous adventures are recounted as Cervantes told them, but viewed from the perspective of a 21st-century audience. It even includes a perhaps surprising, but certainly thrilling, ending.

If you've read Cervantes's great novel, you'll especially enjoy this stage adaptation. And if you haven't read it (yet), this light, comedic format, told in just 59 minutes, will introduce you to it in the most entertaining way possible. And perhaps, one day, it will no longer be a source of resistance for you.
