Throughout the 20th century, some four hundred thousand jazz records were released. Currently, the annual release rate hovers around five thousand albums. But none of these recordings can fully capture the magic of improvisation, the hallmark and essence of live jazz. Only the jazz club or concert hall offers the audience the unique privilege of witnessing that foundational moment that arises when listening to this music at the very moment of its creation.

On February 24, 2007, JAZZ CÍRCULO opened with the primary objective of providing the Madrid public with a new venue to listen to live jazz in an iconic institution in the heart of the city. Since then, fourteen editions of Jazz Círculo have been held uninterrupted, with an average of thirteen concerts each, in different venues.el Círculo de Bellas ArtesFrom 2015 onwards, the cycle's regular "home" was La Pecera, the CBA's cafeteria. The unfortunate pandemic couldn't stop the cycle, which, with a reduced number of concerts, moved to the Sala de Columnas.

Jazz Círculo has hosted prominent musicians from the national and international jazz scene such as Bob Sands, Jorge Pardo, Federico Lechner, Rubem Dantas, Jerry González, Randy Wenston, Perico Sambeat, Esperanza Spalding, and Javier Colina. Jazz Círculo thus explores the different styles that characterize this musical genre, where orthodoxy and tradition, popular and cultivated music, innovation and the avant-garde exert a play of reciprocal influences that are not mutually exclusive. Unlike any other cultural manifestation, they all coexist in a vital and enriching hybrid harmony.
