Kieu. Story of Water is an adaptation of Nguyen Dû's verse novel Kim van Kieu . Directed by Julián Fuentes Reta, the play is based on an ancient Chinese story that seeks to open the viewer's eyes to gender inequality. Indeed, Kieu examines various aspects of Vietnamese society, but above all, it analyzes the (secondary) role played by women on the Asian continent, exemplified in an extraordinary way by the journey of its protagonist, Thuy-Kieu.
