Kabuki is a form of Japanese theater that emerged in the 17th century as a combination of music, dance, and acting. From its beginnings, tradition dictates that all actors must be men.onnagata), who will play roles ranging from maidens to elderly women. Frequent scene changes, distinctive makeup and costume aesthetics, and exaggerated acting expressions are the hallmarks of the most popular of Japan's traditional drama styles, whose staging continues to inspire fashion and performing arts trends today.

Actor Yajuro Bando has made a significant contribution to popularizing Kabuki on the international stage. Since his first Kabuki performance in 1973, he has toured extensively throughout Europe and America. On this occasion, he will perform alongside his eldest son, Shingo Bando, in the play On the outskirts of Osaka, under the snow of love (Tsumoru Koi Yuki no Seki no To). It is a story of love and rivalry that unfolds in the 9th century on the border of Osaka, in a place where a cherry tree blooms while the snow falls.

Prior to the performance, Yajuro Bando will give an introduction to Kabuki Theatre, providing the audience with the necessary insights to appreciate this ancient art form, inscribed by UNESCO in 2005 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Spain has not hosted an authentic Kabuki performance since 1987. This is therefore a unique opportunity to enjoy a show that adheres to the strictures of its tradition and history.
