Cosmos Quartet and Vicent Alberola, clarinet

Círculo de Cámara

In addition to being a renowned conductor, Vicent Alberola is one of Spain's most internationally acclaimed clarinetists. Since its founding by Claudio Abbado, he has been the principal clarinetist of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. Here he will join the Cosmos Quartet for a program spanning three peaks of the repertoire. It opens with Beethoven's... Quartet No. 1 of its Op.18, a work in which the classical tradition already finds a personal accent. It is followed by the two great quintets for clarinet and strings in the repertoire: Mozart's, KV 581, a model of elegance and perfect dialogue between soloist and ensemble, and that of Brahms, Op.115A mature work in which the instrument acquires an intimate and nostalgic voice, tinged with autumnal sweetness. An evening celebrating the encounter between an internationally renowned soloist and a quartet with a solid track record.
