Quiroga Quartet

[df-subtitle]Romain Guyot (clarinet)[/df-subtitle]

The Quiroga Quartet currently consists of Aitor Hevia (first violin), Cibrán Sierra (second violin), Helena Poggio (cello), and Josep Puchades (viola). In 2018, they received the National Music Prize, and their exemplary ensemble stems from a careful balance of voices and a highly personal timbral imprint. In the inaugural concert of Círculo de Cámara They will perform two of Mozart's landmark works: the Quartet of Dissonances and the most popular Clarinet Quintet (performed by Romain Guyot). The program is completed by two pieces by Luigi Boccherini and Gaetano Brunetti, 18th-century Italian masters who settled in Madrid at the Bourbon court. Two of their recently rediscovered quartets will be heard for the first time.

Romain Guyot, for his part, has performed with the world's leading orchestras, under the direction of Thierry Fischer, Jérémy Rhorer, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Arie van Beek, Gilbert Varga, Karel Mark Chichon, Pascal Rophé, and Jean-François Verdier, among others. A passionate chamber musician, Guyot is currently principal clarinetist of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe; since 2009, he has been a professor at the Geneva University of Music; and since 2015, he has also taught at the Seoul National University College of Music.
