Synopsis
As Pericón said in his memoirs: a ship arrived at the port of Cádiz carrying the scores of flamenco; Cádiz kept the best, and the rest was scattered throughout different parts of Spain. Each region has its own personality and a distinct way of breathing and interpreting this blessed art. Cádiz has a very special character; it is anarchic and rebellious. Cádiz is salt, grace, rhythm, sweetness, a forge, a bay; it is romances, street cries, tanguillos, soleares, and alegrías. The very best have come from Cádiz. Starting with the patriarch of Cádiz flamenco, Enrique El Mellizo, who undoubtedly reinterpreted and established the standards of Cádiz flamenco as it is known today.

David Palomar was destined to protect and preserve this legacy. He also imbued it with his creativity and unique singing style, ensuring the continued evolution of this living art form. Thanks to his national awards, accolades, and recordings, he has once again put Cádiz on the map. Cádiz is one of the most cherished flamenco sanctuaries for both aficionados and performers. As some experts say, it is the mecca of flamenco: the beginning and the end of it all.
