Gustavo Díaz-Jerez (piano)
Gustavo Díaz-Jerez is, in addition to being an excellent instrumentalist – as he has recently demonstrated in the recording of the suite Iberia—by Isaac Albéniz—, a composer of merit. In this concert, the second of the cycle. Beethoven Today, will perform two of his works, which were commissioned (Metaludios: Succubus and Homage to Antonio Soler) and will accompany them with the Studies No. 5 and No. 14 by György Ligeti and four sonatas by Ludwig van Beethoven: No. 3, influenced by Muzio Clementi; No. 9, with its premonitions to the music of Johannes Brahms; No. 12, which includes an anticipatory funeral march; and the gentle and introverted No. 27, full of a Germanic lyricism.
