The young drummer Michael Olivera hails from Santa Clara, Cuba, but is strongly linked to the Spanish and Madrid jazz scene. He has collaborated on hundreds of projects and performed at festivals such as Jazz à Vienne, Jazz in Marciac, Montreal Jazz Fest, Blue Note NY, Jakarta Jazz Festival, and Warsaw Jazz Festival, among many others. A drummer, producer, and arranger, he embarked on his first solo project in 2016. Ashé, which in Yoruba means divine blessing and constitutes a solid compendium of Cuban and world jazz.
