The concert series will take place in the ballroom del Círculo de Bellas ArtesThis space, with its unique architectural and acoustic characteristics, is ideal for chamber, orchestral, and choral music. These concerts will be the central focus of the program. Círculo Bach. The Royal Chapel of Madrid will be the host and programmer.

Acis and Galatea is a pastoral opera in two acts composed by Handel and inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses . This work, premiered in 1731, tells the tragic story of the romance between a nymph, Galatea, and her beloved Acis. Their relationship awakens the jealousy of the giant Polyphemus.

This is the first oratorio Handel wrote in a foreign language (English). He composed it while working in Edgware, a small town northwest of London, as composer-in-residence for James Brydges, the first Duke of Chandos. The Royal Chapel of Madrid will perform this opera, adapting it for the stage.
