Arbós Trio (and friends)
Silent film screening concert with original music by Stephen Prutsman (Third edition)
The Arbós Trio returns for the third consecutive year, providing live musical accompaniment to silent films, once again featuring original scores by Stephen Prutsman (Los Angeles, 1960), a composer deeply interested in creating soundtracks for great silent film classics. While the previous two years focused on Buster Keaton, this time the program will feature three short films. Two of these, produced in the 1910s, are * The Cameraman's Revenge *, an experimental film by the Russian director Wladyslaw Starewicz, and *Suspense* , written, starring, and co-directed by Lois Weber, one of the great pioneers of the film industry. The second part of the program includes * Big as a Moose* , one of the many short films directed in the 20s by the comedic genius Leo McCarey.
The Cameraman's Revenge by Władysław Starewicz (1910)
Suspense by Lois Weber and Phillips Smalley (1913)
Mighty like a Moose by Leo McCarey (1926)
