Ubu roe This is the magnum opus of Alfred Jarry, the French playwright who dazzled creators like Max Jacob and Apollinaire. In it, Ubu, captain of the Polish army and former King of Aragon, instigated by his wife and with the help of another captain, Ferrer, overthrows the King of Poland to establish a horrific tyranny. Timothy, the son of the former king, who has miraculously escaped the massacre of his family, manages to secure the help of the Tsar of Russia to reclaim the crown and raise a powerful army. Iguana Teatre presents us with Ubu in its purest form, in a fast-paced production full of dark humor and visceral intensity.
