On the 50th anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich's death, few works can pay better tribute to his enduring genius than the complete Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87, a monumental piano cycle inspired by Bach but imbued with the emotional intensity and the personal, unmistakable language—a blend of modernism and tradition—of the Russian composer. Moscow pianist Yuliana Avdeeva, winner of the Chopin Competition and acclaimed for her interpretive depth, returns to the Círculo To meet this demanding challenge in a unique recital.
