Le Corbusier and the synthesis of the arts: | The poem of the right angle
Exhibition about Le Poème de L'Angle Droit, book published by Le Corbusier in 1955, and which the architect considered a synthesis of his career and his ideas surrounding artistic and architectural creativity and its role in the contemporary world. In the 155 lithographed pages that make up the work, the text of the long poem, handwritten by the artist himself, is accompanied by numerous drawings and 19 full-page color lithographs, completing a grand fresco in which writing, the visual arts, and reflection on architecture itself compose a kind of total work of art.
However, despite this, The Poem of the Right Angle It has not received until now the special attention that its own author demanded. This exhibition aims to help rectify this oversight by art historians and to show the public something that Le Corbusier always insisted on: the impossibility of separating his architecture, his visual art, and his poetic-aesthetic reflections.
