Patrick Faigenbaum. Photographs 1974-2008 | Photoespaña 2009
Famous for his dark and sumptuous portraits of the Italian aristocracy, made in the mid-1980s, Patrick Faigenbaum He has developed a body of work that encompasses all genres: street images, urban views and still lifes are part of his production, but the central theme of his photographs is the human being, his unique aura and his inscription in time and history.
PHE09 presents an exhibition showcasing the work of the last twenty years. After an artist residency at the Villa Medici in Rome, Faigenbaum rose to prominence with portraits of Italian aristocratic families. Following this renowned series, and for the past fifteen years, Faigenbaum has traveled throughout Europe photographing cities such as Prague, Bremen, Barcelona, Tulle, Saint-Raphaël, and Beauvais. In his photographs, he unravels the history of these cities, weaving a delicate tapestry between past and present.
