Fernando Sánchez Castillo She presents a video installation that reflects on themes such as collective historical memory and politics in Spain. Her fascination with the chronicles of the 20th century, and especially with the period of the Civil War and the years that followed, unearths an attraction to the revolutionary, the political, and, of course, the social. Civilians, soldiers, dictators, and the stories of winners and losers are all within her focus.

Her artistic practice is rooted in the conceptual. Through sculpture, drawing, and video, she investigates the relationship between art and authority, highlighting the enduring power of certain symbols in society. Monuments, documentation, public space, and tradition become tools for unraveling our recent past.
