The CBA presents this exhibition dedicated to the Spanish avant-garde artistic group Noise, founded in 1964 by Spanish composers Juan Hidalgo y Ramón Barceas well as by the Italian composer Walter Marchetti, and primarily focused on the development of so-called action music.

Heavily influenced by neo-Dadaism and Zen, Noise He also drew inspiration from the work of the American composer John Cage —whom Hidalgo and Marchetti met in Darmstadt in 1958—and who also became a key source of inspiration during its formation. When Hidalgo and Marchetti settled in Spain (from 1960 onwards), a series of circumstances came into play that fostered the group's birth: the avant-garde movement at that time affected music, literature, and the visual arts, whose initiatives intersected. Conz Archive Collection This has been made possible thanks to the donation from the Italian collector Francesco ConzFrom his collection: thirty serigraphs by these artists will be exhibited at the CBA. Deeply interested in the Spanish artistic avant-garde, Conz oversaw the publication of a large number of the works of Noise and collaborated closely with its members.

The exhibition will also include a collection of historical photographs of performances by these artists, constituting the most important exhibition of its kind presented to date in Spain, and documenting the actions carried out by Noise abroad.
