Ecosocialism or barbarism?
Group play session of the video game Half Earth Socialism
Our civilization is at a critical ecological juncture. The loss of biodiversity, global warming, and other environmental challenges threaten the planet's equilibrium and compel us to rethink our forms of political and social organization. But crises also open up new possibilities: they break down the boundaries of the established order and invite us to imagine other possible futures.
In this session we will play a group game of the video game Half-Earth SocialismThis experience places us at the helm of a global planner tasked with averting ecological catastrophe without losing public support. The game unfolds in a climate agora format, transforming economic planning into a collective exercise in deliberation, negotiation, and decision-making.
Rather than competing, the proposal invites debate, exploring different strategies and reflecting on the challenges posed by the transition towards more sustainable models of coexistence.
The activity is open to everyone and requires no prior knowledge of video games or the ecological crisis. The game will be facilitated by Carlos Moreno Azqueta.
