Europe, our home
For more than two decades, el Círculo de Bellas Artes It has played a key role as a space for meeting, reflection and cultural dialogue in Europe. Just like Casa EuropaOur aim is to broaden the debate on European identity, culture, and values beyond the academic and political spheres, bringing it directly to the public. We believe that culture should act as a bridge and a refuge in times of uncertainty, strengthening social cohesion and promoting the diversity of voices and narratives that shape Europe.
To mark Europe Day—celebrated on May 9 to commemorate the Schuman Declaration and the beginning of the common European project—we have prepared a special program that will run throughout the month. In the current context, where authoritarian, identity-based, and ultranationalist tendencies, both internal and external, threaten European unity and values, we will hold demonstrations, presentations, and meetings to advocate for a democratic, diverse, and open Europe.
Through this series of activities, we want to reinforce our commitment to the founding principles of the European Union and offer a space for dialogue, critical thinking and cultural action in the face of the challenges of the present.
