Eñe Festival

14 - 16 Nov '25

Organized by La Fábrica and el Círculo de Bellas Artes

Entry to the space is free and open to the public.

Eñe brings together those who write, read and think, making literature a shared space for creation and encounter.

International Festival of Literature and Creation

Since 2009, the Eñe Festival has celebrated contemporary literature and creation in November, bringing together Spanish-language authors with publishers, critics, and readers.

In a time marked by uncertainty and dystopias, this edition proposes a reclaiming of pleasure as an act of resistance and a source of thought, art, and life. From the classics to the avant-garde, desire and enjoyment have driven culture and human imagination.

In 2025, el Círculo It is once again the epicenter of this great literary festival, which this year features Portugal as the guest country.

The festival of literature floods el Círculo in an edition that celebrates enjoyment and imagination.

Pleasure, a subversive claim

In a world saturated with urgencies, algorithms and fears, the Eñe Festival proposes to stop and recover pleasure as the driving force of creation and thought.

The pleasure of reading, listening, discovering, and letting curiosity guide you. In contrast to the logic of fear and speed, Eñe celebrates slowness, conversation, and shared imagination.

This edition invites us to view literature as a fertile territory where the sensory, the intellectual, and the emotional intertwine, reclaiming enjoyment as a form of lucidity and a radical affirmation of life.

Pleasure, a subversive claim

From Epicurus, Plato, and Aristotle to Casanova and Schopenhauer, from the Kama Sutra to One Thousand and One Nights, Pantagruel and the Decameron, or Don Quixote and the Spanish picaresque novel, reflection and the pursuit of pleasure, in perpetual tension with the repressive norms of society and the morality dictated, above all, by religions or totalitarian puritanism, have been part of universal culture for millennia. We need to reclaim it with all our might today as an inseparable, necessary, and vital part of our identity.
