Round table for social agents, cultural mediators, historians, philosophers and anthropologists

Today, it seems almost natural to understand society as a game in which some win and others lose, and generally, more attention is paid to success stories than to failures. Failure is deeply intertwined with stereotypes about certain regions, nations, gender, race, social class, and individuals' capacity for self-improvement. But what does failure really mean? How do we measure it? Who determines this status? Is there such a thing as definitive failure, or is it a temporary notion?

In this roundtable discussion, we aim to answer these questions from a broad perspective, one that includes the voices of social workers, museum professionals, gender project and action managers, and university researchers. We want to establish channels to enrich our understanding of failure and offer perspectives that can help question and reverse that very notion. We seek to establish a communication model that connects research with society. In short, we aim to build a bridge between research, cultural communication, and people's daily lives, and to offer tools for social integration and a new definition of success.

They will participate Valerio Rocco Lozano (Director of the CBA), Saúl Martínez Bermejo (REVFAIL project), Magally Allegre Henderson (Former Deputy Director of the UNESCO Chair for Gender Equality in Secondary Education, EMULIES), Carlos Gimenez (La Caixa Intercultural Community Intervention Project) and Solène de Pablos (National Archaeological Museum).
